Wish It

About this Project

Wish It was designed to make shopping easier and more personalized for users. The app uses AI and surveys to recommend products, sales, and wishlist ideas based on user interests. Future improvements could include faster recommendations, more brand options, dark mode, and better sale notifications to improve the overall user experience that we weren’t able to do due to the time crunch of 2 weeks.

Professional Feedback

Hey Aissa Haja!

Shopping can get really overwhelming and expensive, but your app does a great job addressing both of those issues. By far, my favorite feature is that it keeps everything in one place. I get so frustrated having a million tabs open across different shopping sites just to keep track of wishlist items, and I’m sure many others feel the same way.

The survey feature for filtering user preferences is a really smart idea. One thing to keep in mind, though, is that users usually want their experience to be as quick and simple as possible. Instead of making survey questions fully open-ended, adding preset answer choices could make the process faster and less overwhelming. For example, a question like “What color palette do you lean toward when shopping for clothes?” could include options such as “bright colors,” “dark colors,” and “neutral colors.” This would likely encourage more users to complete the surveys. I also liked that you already use a simpler multiple-choice format in the feedback section.

Visually, the app is very eye-catching and intuitive. The minty teal color palette and the name of the app are unique and memorable, especially compared to the many apps that rely on basic blue branding. The user interface (UI) is also very clean and easy to navigate, which is important since the app could appeal to a wide range of ages and demographics.

I’m glad to hear you already have ideas for future features, but I wanted to suggest a few more. Since parents do a large amount of shopping, especially for younger children, it could be useful to include subprofiles where users can create separate wishlists for each family member. For younger users, a friend feature where people can view each other’s wishlists for inspiration could also be fun and engaging. This could even appeal to influencers or people looking for gift ideas, similar to an Amazon wishlist.

One thing I found slightly unclear at first was the exact problem your app is trying to solve, especially since it offers several different features. A clearer tagline and a stronger explanation of the app’s main purpose could help users immediately understand how it would fit into their everyday lives.

Overall, this is definitely an app I could see myself using. Since online shopping is so common, I think your app has the potential to reach a very wide audience. Great job, and I’m excited to see how the project develops in the future!
