About this Project
Storm tracking is often fragmented, delayed, or difficult for everyday users to interpret, putting communities at risk during severe weather events. This app addresses that need by providing real-time storm tracking, predictive paths, and clear, user-friendly alerts tailored to a user’s location. It would integrate live weather data, radar imaging, and machine learning models to deliver accurate forecasts and actionable safety guidance in one accessible platform.

Professional Feedback
Alex, I think your Stormlink submission shows a thoughtful effort to solve a real-world safety problem by helping people prepare for storms and get weather information in a way that feels more personal and useful. Your team clearly focused on a meaningful social issue, because storm preparation can have a direct impact on people’s safety, especially for users who may not know how to respond in an emergency. I can see intentional design choices in the way you included a survey at the beginning to learn about the user’s location, storm concerns, experience level, shelter access, and even pet needs, which shows that you are thinking about different user situations and trying to personalize the app experience. I also like that the app includes practical features like a weather forecast, storm map, navigation menu, and history/settings options, because that shows you are building a full tool rather than just one screen. One recommendation I would give is to keep refining the visual hierarchy and layout so the screens feel more organized and easier to scan quickly during an emergency. I would also like to see more screen designs and a clearer flow layout showing how users move through the app, because that would help demonstrate the full design process and create a better user experience. Overall, I think this is a meaningful project with a clear purpose, and I encourage your team to keep developing it because the idea shows creativity, empathy, and strong potential as a safety-focused design solution.
