About this Project
Hello, our project is the HPHS community. We created an app for our school for those who don't have access to social media or the internet. So that students don't feel left out about school events, due dates and more.

Professional Feedback
The problem statement that lead to the development of the app is clear and the impact this app would have is amazing. The social impact of the app is well thought out and the app's user interface clearly reflects it. As the team mentioned in the project presentation, adding notifications and reminder features would be very helpful for students to make sure they are on top of what is happening - good catch! Great job and excited to see what this project can develop into!
Hey Patrick, Sariah and Tiara ,
Missing out is such a disappointing feeling that no student should have to experience. Keeping track of classes, homework, extracurricular activities, and personal responsibilities is already challenging enough, and important school events can easily get overlooked in the process. As you mentioned, another major issue is the poor communication of information within schools, which can leave students confused about upcoming events and opportunities.
Your app addresses these problems by creating a simple, organized, and easy-to-use platform where students can stay informed. One aspect that really stands out is that it doesn't rely on social media. Not every student has social media accounts, especially younger students, and many parents are understandably concerned about the privacy and security risks that come with those platforms. Unfortunately, some schools still depend on social media to share important information. Your app provides a safe and reliable alternative where students and parents can access updates without exposing themselves to unnecessary risks.
This app would also be incredibly valuable for parents who want to stay informed about school events and announcements. To make the platform even more effective for time management, I would suggest adding not only notifications but also a calendar feature. This would allow students and parents to view upcoming events in one place, plan ahead, and avoid missing important dates.
One feature that makes social media effective is the ability to interact through comments and ask questions. To incorporate that idea in a safer and more structured way, students and parents could submit questions under posts or announcements. These questions could then be reviewed and answered by faculty members before being made public. Keeping submissions anonymous while requiring faculty approval would create a secure environment where users feel comfortable asking questions while ensuring that information remains accurate and appropriate. It would also make it much easier for students and parents to know where to direct their questions and receive reliable answers.
The last thing I want to highlight is your app's visual design. The logo and overall aesthetic are fun, inviting, and energetic. Many modern apps have become extremely minimalistic to the point of feeling bland, but your design brings personality and excitement back into the learning environment. It creates an experience that feels welcoming and engaging for students.
Overall, great job! This is a thoughtful solution to a real problem that many students and families face. I can't wait to see how this idea develops and grows in the years ahead.
