About this Project
Hover AI is an educational support tool designed to transform AI from a simple "answer machine" into a supportive tutor that prioritizes genuine student learning over quick solutions. Developed in response to student feedback highlighting the lack of critical thinking in current AI tools, the app utilizes a "Guided Learning" algorithm that prompts users with sample problems and step-by-step scaffolding rather than providing direct answers. Beyond its specialized chatbot, Hover AI features a comprehensive student dashboard including a study calendar with test countdowns, productivity timers, and integrated music controls to help students manage deadlines and stay focused. By addressing ethical concerns like plagiarism and AI dependency, Hover AI empowers students to master difficult subjects across the curriculum and build the confidence needed to succeed on their own during exams.

Professional Feedback
While AI is capable of making shortcuts, it can easily take away the ability for the user to practice new skills. I appreciate the thought and intention put into creating this AI by providing scaffolded guidance for its users. The homepage/dashboard makes all the tools I would need feel within reach, and the combination of features feels natural. (I personally love having focus timers and music to help lock in)
Some things to think about for next time:
• If the AI is the focus of the app, I would've loved to see a full AI conversation play out, or examples of other ways it would respond to prompts. More content here would be super insightful.
• While it's great that the homepage offers a lot, it's visually a little overwhelming. Find that balance between making clearer visual boundaries between the different features while also keeping everything within theme of the style guide. Try to prioritize the focus to around 1-3 elements on the page at a time. Other features can always be made smaller or minimized for quick access.
Overall, this app would make for a great addition to any student's phone! I can tell you have your audience in mind as you went about creating the app. Great work!
