About this Project
Our school desperately needed an upgrade to bathroom and nurse passes. The original passes were made of laminated paper and were in poor condition. We were tasked with creating new bathroom and nurse passes that are convenient, safe to use, water resistant, and durable.

What the Judges are Saying
I think this project is very unique. I like how you broke down the presentation from problem to solution. It was also great that you showed the different revisions needed to arrive at the final solution. This shows that you didn’t give up and went back to the drawing board. This is impactful for hall passes since they are more durable and can be used longer than the existing hall passes. Well executed!
This project is awesome: the team took a problem that they were experiencing directly and dove into the details, exploring and iterating to create a real solution.
The discovery portion of the design process was really thorough, not just focusing on input from other students but also including teachers and administration. The resulting product requirements were a great example of why talking to users is important: I would never have thought about whether or not the pass is throwable, but that was valuable insight from the assistant principal interview.
The prototyping phase of this project was particularly strong. The team went through so many iterations, evaluating each prototype and improving on it until the final version. I am really impressed that the product was physically prototyped using rendering and 3D printing — so cool!
This product design solution is innovative and functional, great job.
