About this Project

Newly migrated students find it difficult to adjust to the school system due to the language barrier and the lack of access to resources and mentors. Our app will solve this issue by allowing these students to connect with a mentor and access all available resources in one easy-to-use platform.

What the Judges are Saying

What a great idea to provide support for immigrant youths who need help navigating the school system. Great work on stating the problem and how to address it. Your approach to design creates a simple to use app with consistent design of a menu at the bottom of the screen and interactive content in the remainder of the screen. Great work on developing your UX/UI design. The icons developed make it clear and easy to understand what functions each represent. I really like the ability to chat with a mentor.

It will be exciting to see your next steps in designing some of the functions you discussed in your presentation. It is great you are thinking about how to use AI - I hope the team will be able to work on designing that into this app in the future! Keep up the great work!
Your project addresses a crucial challenge faced by newly migrated students, and your solution demonstrates empathy and innovation. Your app design is intuitive, with a user-friendly interface. I love the inclusion of a mentor chat feature, to foster a sense of community and support.

Think about trying to expand resource accessibility to incorporate multilingual support as well.

Could you incorporate a way for users to provide feedback on the resources and mentorship they receive, to promote continuous improvement?

Can you provide more information on how mentors are selected and vetted to ensure they provide the highest level of support for students?

Keep up the excellent work, and I look forward to seeing how your project evolves!
