About this Project
Our game focuses on a character who faces a world full of drug addicts. He must help rid the world of such as he is a recovering addict himself by moving through different places as fast as he can without collecting anything. Our game hopes to bring awareness to people who struggle or knows someone who struggles to help make this world healthier and cleaner.

What the Judges are Saying
This project shows incredible creativity and courage in tackling a very serious topic of drug addiction through a video game. Using a game is an innovative approach to this subject, and the concept of your character needing to avoid collectibles, rather than gather them, is a really smart and thought-provoking twist on typical game mechanics. It's an engaging and artistic way to get players to think about the challenges of addiction.
There's a lot of potential here to make the story you're telling and the demonstration of your game even more impactful. One really interesting area you've started to explore is the journey of recovery. As you think about developing this powerful idea further, you could consider how the game might also show ways the character finds strength or support, reinforcing the idea that help is available and recovery isn't always a solo journey. For example, could there be elements in the game that represent finding help or the support systems that assist people? This could add another compelling layer to your already strong message.
Overall, this is a very thought-provoking project with a unique concept. You should be proud of taking on such a meaningful challenge and finding such a creative way to bring awareness to it. Well done!

This is a great concept and it was really well executed. I had a fun time playing (and losing) the game. I like the edgy attitude in your intro to the game. And I love the twist you took to invert the classic collectibles scroller. It's really creative and it helps to reinforce the overall social awareness message you're sending with the game. I can see lots of ways you could build further on this basic idea.
This is indeed a novel game. Rather than collecting items, the game emphasizes the importance of avoiding certain harmful substances. It effectively reinforces the idea that steering clear of certain things in life allows you to focus on what truly matters.
