About this Project
EmPow was created to empower the youth in finding their confidence to start building their careers through learning about financial literacy and finding opportunities. We came up with this idea by wanting to do something unique, in our lives this is talked about a lot between students but nothing ever done to combat this issue.
Before we started any sort of designing, we decided to get some more information on our topic through studying our competitors, surveying other students to know what is more important to include and to see the general knowledge of our audience. Once we had the information we needed we started designing, starting from a paper prototype, wireframe, and then making an app with three sections, finding opportunities, understanding finance and lastly finding employees for businesses to use.
The app starts off on a login page where the user can input their information and is given the choice to find work, learn finance, or if you’re a business owner, find employees.

What the Judges are Saying
Your project is a fantastic example of how young innovators can create real change! Tackling financial literacy and career confidence for students is such an important goal, and you approached it with maturity, intention, and purpose.
It was especially impressive to see how you started by researching your audience, surveying peers, and analyzing existing solutions before jumping into design. That's what science is all about! That kind of thoughtful preparation is exactly what leads to great technology, and specifically great apps!
Your three-part structure makes it easy to follow along with your project and shows that you've really considered how the app would work in real life. The way you presented your app in action and included an emulator-accessible version truly elevated this project. Keep going with this - you're building something that could truly make a difference for others!

One of the most comprehensive app pitches I have ever seen. Excellent story about your thought process, competitive analysis, personas and demo. The one thing I’d add is how you will measure the benefits (both financial and user based). Great job!
