About this Project:

Shape the world is a game about building a better world. Through our game we want to convey ways to make the world a better place. In our game the main character circle spends their day with their friends Semicircle. They see that Semi is having a bad day and tries their best to make them happy. While about in town, Circle and semi run into other friends and help them with minute tasks. In return Circle and semi both receive rewards for their good deeds.

We came up with this idea because I wanted more representation in my game. I wanted for whomever is the player to project onto the protagonist without gender differences. The characters would represent different characteristics- to a certain level of extremes. One character would be mute, one character is trans. Two characters are idol characters, One character has two colors, another character does not have a definitive shae. However the protagonist can interact with them as though they are a normal person.

The project is a choice game. The player makes choices to hang out with characters at specific times and when they hang out with the specific character at the specific time, the protag gets rewarded.

I really enjoyed this game and especially the art! It takes me back to the "chose your own adventure" books I used to read as a kid. I would suggest taking a page from the Choose Your Own Adventure books and expand on the choices: Do you want to call a friend to cover your shift at the bakery so you can go out with Semi or have Semi stay here at the bakery so you can chat while you work?
All in all there is a lot of potential for some great interactive fiction here!

I loved the different choices in the game! I also liked the characters and how different each was and the use of neutral pronouns. I appreciated your focus on choices and consequences. The overall aim of the game to help a friend was also a good goal. The "aspects of diversity, of fellowship, of unity" were well done. Allowing the player to try again and to make mistakes, was good perspective on social interaction. The game ran well (although I couldn't find the "good" outcome- just average ones at best). But choosing scenarios ranging from a library to a game store was realistically depicting the world of students- I liked your choices. And the artwork was really good! Good job!

I really liked the characters in this. I love the idea of naming your characters after shapes and the meaning that that carries. Plus, having a character named Circle and having a character named Semi is really funny. You clearly spend a lot of time writing out the story and thinking through the possibilities and it was great to see a unique illustration created for each piece of the story as well. Great work, you should be proud.

Beautiful artwork and a wonderful premise! The idea in your pitch about having a variety of characters is clear in the illustrations. Have you also thought about including more info in the narrative about each character to increase your point about representation? And the choose your own adventure is certainly fun to do! I did notice that there's only one way to get to the "Good Ending." I hope in future versions of the game, you'll add more options for people to get to that ending. It's a fun game to play!
