“Save the Dog”

About this Project:

My project addressed the way humans treat stray or injured dogs that are left on the streets. There will be a stray injured dog on the streets in my game. The player has to choose the correct choices to save the dog in order to win the game. If they choose the wrong choice then the game will start over. I used app lab to design my game. I came up with the idea because the competition that my teacher entered us in required you to do three topics. And one of them is about animals. That's how I came up with the idea of “Save the Dog”.

As a dog lover, this game was really fun to review. It makes me sad when I see stray dogs, too, so I'm happy you chose to focus on this cause.

You did a great job framing the problem of stray dogs. It's a sad topic and you illustrated it well in simple words and pictures, not easy to do. As the game went on, I'd love to see more references to shelter recommendations who take dogs. This is a cool game so I'd want to see all the research you did when thinking of how to design it.

I read this with my 2 dogs in the room and they loved it, too!

I love the idea behind this game, and the storytelling in your design. Very nice work! I would love to see the game expanded to include other animals and maybe a link to some real life resources to help animals on the street. Overall the game looks great and has a really good message. Kudos!

This game made me think a lot about how we can demonstrate empathy to animals. Through your slide deck, you did a great job of describing the problem of stray animals, and your game seems like a good way to engage humans in decision making about how to approach animals they might otherwise ignore. I liked your description of your process, and also the thought you put into the choices you provided for players of the game. Just from engaging with this presentation my consciousness about animals on the streets of our city has been raised! I think this project has loads of potential and could grow to include additional scenarios and even information about how to care for and support stray animals. Nice work!
