A Game Design Project from the G4C Student Challenge
a High School Student from Thomas A. Edison Career and Technical Education High School
About this Project:
The issue that my project addresses is about how animals in the arctic, especially Polar Bears are losing their habitats due to global warming. In my game I educate the users through what’s right and wrong and how certain factors can harm the arctic. I came up with my design by trying to use colors that would connect to the issue I was trying to address which was how global warming is having a negative impact in the arctic. In order to enhance that I used blue and white in my project. My project is a game in which you will be given a question and will have to answer based on your prior knowledge. If the user gets the wrong answer, they will be educated as to why the answer they chose was incorrect.

This is a really great project. It's a simple design and experience for the user. I also like that when you answer something incorrect, it gives you a reason as to why with a specific fact and allows you to try again. In addition, I like that some basic activities are covered such as riding a bike instead of driving a car, recycling vs using plastic bottle etc. One thing I would add is at the end, or after each correct answer, extra reading or resources to learn more about the subject. Great work!

Saving animals is always something that hits me at my core and I appreciate that there is an emphasis on saving the Polar Bears. This was very educational and stressed how much we impact things as well as things impact us. Great job on bringing awareness to this issue!

Impressive work creating a game about such a crucial issue! Focusing global warming efforts down to a specific element – in this case polar bears – gives your audience a clear reference to understand the impacts of global warming in a more tangible way. Very smart!
Good use of music and sound effects to keep the user engaged. Perhaps the addition of more images or visuals could amplify that further?
Thank you for sharing something you are passionate about and bringing awareness to an important topic with your unique voice. Great work!
