Remote Rewards

About this Project:

During remote learning, student engagement has dropped significantly. Students have their microphones off, cameras off, and are less inclined to participate. This extension incentivizes students to participate in remote learning by assigning points to activities. Those points can be transferred to homework passes and local store gift cards.

I love how much effort you put into your pitch! The data really helps prove your point and that is so key when pitching any kind of idea. This is a super cool idea-- a lot of companies actually use incentivized learning to get people to improve their skill-building. It would be super interesting and cool to see how you could potentially incorporate machine learning to recommend additional (out of class) learning or study resources based on what a user is currently learning/ interested in. This is a great idea and I hope you can make it a reality :)

You've come up with a unique solution to a widespread problem. Kudos! Wonderful video. Choosing to write it as a story, and with humor (rather than focusing on features) made it enjoyable to watch. It also demonstrated your teamwork.

I'm particularly impressed by your research. You shared research that you used to confirm the problem statement. That's really good. You used research to help guide your solution. Super! And you even created "primary" research by conducting a survey in your own school. Awesome! And it gets better - you sought out subject matter experts, and then used their input to iterate the design. Wow!

Add a business model to this and you'd have a perfect pitch to get venture funding for a startup tech company! Well done!

Where do I begin!??! This project is project is solid from start to finish. Developing a solution based on a real world problem you can all connect with is huge. Your entire design process was very well thought it. Including data is always such a strong move, but also your ability to story-tell kept me engaged the entire time. I think the solution you all came up with could make a HUGE impact on students :) Well done!

I am just blown away by the level of professionalism displayed from start to finish. As a college professor this really hit home for me. I believe it would be equally well received from faculty and students alike, across all grade and age levels. Your research was clear, thoughtful and detailed. You presented data to back up the need and your decisions. Your initial user testing provided you good insight and you took that to make even more improvements. Bravo to your entire team!!!

Excellent pitch, tackling modern issues with modern solutions that work. Experiencing the remote issues myself, this extension would have been of great help for both students and teachers alike! I would LOVE to see this to go further. Excellent job, team!

Awesome achievement for middle schoolers! I could see you getting a pilot program up and running, never mind a grant for your school!

I love seeing technology used more frequently in education! There is some very creative content here. I wonder how it could be expanded to be used for in-person, as well as remote, learning. Great work!

Additional comment: I first watched the slide show and didn't notice the video. I saw the video, watched it and LOVED it!!! These students created an excellent project and presented it in a way that was both informative and entertaining. This is so well done!
