About this Project:

My project addresses the importance of resilience and finding the balance for your mental health. Everyone's day to day life can be busy and we tend to forget the importance of our mental health. My game includes different ways to help (Stephen) the main character. My design process had a lot to do with the G4C competition. The competition helped me shape my game and give me on idea on what to build upon.

Feedback from the Judges:

Stress is something we all deal with and I like that Stephen was given alternate choices to better boost his health and mood. The design of each scene was great and I really enjoyed the different scenarios presented through Stephen's day. Have you thought about giving Stephen more choices per scenario? Great Job!

Holly Tienken 👏 Assistant Professor, Communication Design at Kutztown University — Emoti-Con Judge
Self care is so important and I am glad you are bringing awareness to it through a game design! The illustrative backgrounds are great and the design of "Stephen" work well with those backgrounds. The scenarios Stephen is in are relatable to a lot of people, not just students. I might suggest the game be that the user has to selected from the better of the options. For example in the one with breakfast,
maybe say" "Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. You should always eat breakfast to make sure your body is fueled for the day! Help Stephen make a smart breakfast decision." Option 1: Grab a bag of chips. Option 2: Make some eggs and toast! Then when he user selects the egg option, they get positive feedback and know that was the best decision. I think this game would be appealing to many students and I hope you continue to develop it!

Mickell Ford 👏 Aluminati Member at The Emoti-Con Steering Committee — Emoti-Con Judge
Its worthwhile that you are considering what options are available when dealing with stress. The look of each scene was very clearly designed and well done! I'd be really interested in seeing what other choices Stephen could possibly take throughout the day.
