My Story

About this Project:

The project is about harrasment, rape, and mistreatment of females. It's a chat app for women to get into a chat app to talk privately and/or publicly about experiences with others to make them feel more open to other people since the events can be traumitizing to most people. The challenge is mainly the increase in crimes against them which can be difficult for the families affected from the crime(s).

We came up with the idea after we saw a big spike in crimes against women, especially asians but in general, it's been going up a lot so we're trying to make that stop since its a big problem. It can lead to self harm, depression, etc. If I could build it, It would work by making an account with a bunch of interactive stuff to do once its made, It can be anything from customizing the layout, to chatting, to seeing hotlines, etc.

The design process was simple, We tried to find out everything wrong with the crimes and tried to figure out what would calm down the victims in a positive way.

This is a great start for something that is big issue. I'm happy you all are taking the initiative to give a voice to those who have been silent and silenced.

This is an important issue and a clever solution for allowing users to interact in a safe space. It might be interesting to look at the ways apps can provide anonymous communication, or perhaps investigate how responses could be moderated to ensure safe communication. Some competitive research for existing mental health apps (which became much more popular during the pandemic) might lead to some interesting insights. A really great concept with a thoughtful execution. Nicely done.

Your project really has the potential to help a lot of women struggling with harassment and mistreatment! Great work!

This is a very thougtful app confronting a real social problem. I very much appreciate the fact that you chose a solution that creates a community of women supporting other women through very difficult times. Your pitch is persuasive, and the features you include, like the help button and phone numbers to call for support, are very useful. Some things to think about as you continue to work on this are, how will the app pair people who want to chat? Will they be paired by location, or age, or some other factor? You asked about adding video chat. I think that's a good idea--video, or perhaps just phone, which takes less bandwidth. Thank you for thinking about the victims of hate crimes and abuse in our communities.

I love this idea. It's an app with a great design that has potential to make a big change. The only question I have is how are going to make sure that people are respectful and that this is actually a safe space? Maybe people could be reported and you could block accounts that are hurting instead of helping in the chat, and delete hurtful messages.

I am in love with this idea because there are so many women out there who are scared and traumatized from seeing other women getting hurt. So this is definitely a great way to express our feelings and tell each other what we are feeling.
