Fantasy neighborhood small

About this Project

Fantasy Neighborhood is a remote internship focused on creating a collective online "neighborhood" of people and places.

Through group sharing and discussions, we were able to develop our Fantasy Persona identity and their responsibilities in the neighborhood, and create and design a Fantasy Place to add to the collaborative fantasy neighborhood.

Imagining a place, imagining a future, leads to you believing that more is possible in the real world.

What the Judges are Saying

This is simply amazing, kudos to all of you who have created such a compelling virtual community! I love so many things about this: how you get to showcase projects using the skills you have learnt, how you have brought in things you have created in the physical/digital realms and using these as a starting point for telling compelling stories, and most importantly to me, how you have created a platform where everyone has an opportunity to showcase all your creativity. Really, really awesome work!
Great idea for an interactive community. I love the mixed media, it was a refreshing change from the digital world we are all used to. I spent quite a lot of time learning about the people and places.
You all did such a wonderful job. Your quote, "Taking time to create an imaginary world, an imaginary future, leads to believing that more is possible in our real world, and our own futures." ... WOW. That one evoked all the feels. Using your imagination to create a fantasy world to ultimately help everyone in their own world is incredibly strong. I love this.. all of it (the collaboration, imagination, creativity, story-telling, vision, and core concept). You all nailed it!
This is an amazing world to explore. You've got a wonderful cast of characters, a neighborhood that I can get lost in, and the way that you bring traditional art forms like hand drawing, clay sculptures and stop motion animation onto the site is exquisite.

And when you link out to the details about individual characters, I love the way you're using Google Slides to tell those stories. It's a good reminder that websites don't have to be purely HTML, you can make websites out of ANYTHING and this project shows how that's possible and can truly be a group effort. Really wonderful work from everyone involved.
This project is wonderful! I love the claymation and the demo. This is a super idea to create your own neighborhood and characters. The design is super playful. I love it and would love to see this further developed and realized. The team did a wonderful job!
