About this Project:
My project addresses the issue of racial contention and prejudice in America. My project also tackles the prevalence of stereotypes and the propagation of ignorant rhetoric that fuels those stereotypes.
I came up with my idea after a dream I had, where I was stuck in a well shrouded in darkness. Once I woke up, I immediately thought of making a game where people have to climb out of a well. When acknowledging the amount of hate and prejudice that was occurring in 2021, I knew that I should make my game centered around preconceptions and hate in America. It started with an idea, and ended up on paper.
My project is an interactive trivia game. When a player answers a question right, they move closer to the top of the well, if they answer it wrong they move farther away from the well.

Feedback from the Judges:
This is a really interactive trivia game that is built around a really cool concept while also allowing users to answer questions focused on understanding race, bias and prejudice. Excellent work!
This game sounds fun, educational, and seriously empathetic. I definitely feel like this is referencing some Plato - it feels a lot like the "Allegory of the Cave"! The production and narrative are refreshing and exciting.

I like how your project talked about prejudice as a whole as many people don't know that this is a big problem or where racism stems from.
Kristal 👏 a High School Student from Thomas. A Edison High School
I like how your project was very interactive and how you had to answer questions. I also liked how you made a project about racism since it is a big problem in the world today. I thought it was well done.
Michella 👏 a High School Student from Jamaica, Queens
I like how you added a background noise and effects to your quiz. It brings players more closer so that they would want to play this game. Interesting work.
