About this Project

“Viridius” is an app that allows users to post about environmental issues that the Department of Sanitation and Department of Environmental Protection can be informed about. In return, the rewards are exp that can be converted to crypto or bitcoin at a specific level. Finally, you can create a forum for your own cause and support others’ neighborhoods. Our motto is “Viridius mundi, greener world”.

What the Judges are Saying

Viridius approaches an interesting problem in an interesting way: making it easier for a community to work on problems related to the environment. What really stands out here is how comprehensive the design is: from making it easy for people to discover & claim environmental problems via the Categorical Organization and Quest features, to allowing users to find actual trash areas in their immediate neighborhood, to making it easy to donate to Viridius to help support the platform. It's clear that a lot of thought and effort went into each feature and finally into combining them into a app & website. There is a lot of potential here to iterate on the idea by seeking out user feedback to further develop the features. Finally, the presentation (both slides and video) do a great job of walking the audience through what problem the students want to solve, why it's important, and how Viridius would achieve it--it's clear, crisp, and to the point.
A very detailed and thoughtful project. A creative approach to build on crowdsourcing solutions among local citizens to solve problems and provide continuing financial support.
Great job everyone! Your project/pitch was very well thought out, and I could tell you put a lot of thought into the user experience. I appreciate how you didn't limit yourselves to a phone-only application, and made your project browser friendly as well.

With that being said, here are a few notes and tips to think about when it comes to this project as well as future ones. Having unique features is important to ensure that your app is unique as well as useful, but having too many can make people overwhelmed and confused. Especially older generations! Sometimes it helps to look what features are similar and can be combined

Great work!
