About this Project
Step into fitness is an app designed to help people start their fitness journey through various activities around their community. People can see what fitness classes are around their community and sign up on our app. We have a map that can show popular locations where people workout either their running routes, or popular pick up games, etc. You can keep track of your activity log and also compete to win rewards.

What the Judges are Saying
The app is user friendly for all ages, making it an excellent choice for fitness enthusiasts looking to connect with others. Whether you're interested in joining a group run or organizing a bike tour, the app offers a seamless experience for social fitness activities. It will be great to use for people who want to buddy up for a group run or a bike tour. The map section needs more details on how to use that section with examples. A simple walkthrough or FAQ section would be helpful to clarify how to operate the record and group sections. The user profile section is a standout feature. It provides a great way for individuals to track their workouts alongside friends, fostering motivation and accountability. The app has strong potential and delivers a convenient solution for community-based exercise. Refining certain sections with clearer instructions and examples would elevate the user experience even further. The app can make a meaningful change to every community.
Great concept, I would use it. makes tracking activities fun and entertaining.
Your app concept does a great job combining fitness, social connection, and gamification in a community-centered way.
Including an AI chatbot is a thoughtful touch, especially for beginners who may not know how to start their fitness journey. That lowers the barrier to entry, for example, because they won't be embarrassed to ask questions.
Your app brings the community together and inspires people to move. As a researcher, I really like that you brought in information from the American Heart Association, your own survey research, and a competitor analysis to back your design. This really helps to place your work in a broader health context and grounds the project in real-world needs.
It would be great to know more about how users contribute data to the interactive map (e.g., through GPS tracking, check-ins, or manual entry) and how they can choose to share (or not share) their information.
I also see some great potential here to reach an even broader community. How might this app serve people with disabilities or those who aren’t already part of fitness communities? This is something that could really make your app stand out from other fitness apps!
Your design is well thought out and the visuals are backed by some clever design thinking.
Overall, Step Into Fitness shows a well-rounded approach to a meaningful challenge, with great potential to support both physical and social wellbeing. Nicely done!

Really great project! I'm impressed with the Figma prototype and the slide deck showing clear and concise step-through of the Step Into Fitness project using real world problem solving. Well done!
