What the Judges are Saying

S.T.R.A.W. is an inspiring and much-needed digital resource that takes a peer-driven approach to addressing critical issues facing teenagers. From mental health and relationship abuse to consent and education, your app will provide support in an environment where young users feel heard, validated, and empowered.
Layout is user-friendly, ensuring that teens can navigate the platform with ease. The presence of dedicated sections for educational videos, advice columns, peer engagement through video chat, and even games fosters a holistic experience. It balances serious discussions with interactive elements, making sure the app feels inviting rather than intimidating.
The most impressive aspect of this design is its peer-to-peer connection. Very empathetic!!! Many teens struggling with relationship abuse or mental health concerns hesitate to seek help from adults, often fearing judgment or dismissal. By integrating teen-to-teen communication and shared experiences, S.T.R.A.W. creates an atmosphere of mutual support and understanding.
Love the logo and the clear and engaging content labeling—such as "Sexual, Mental, and Hygiene VideosThe inclusion of video chat options allows users to interact with others who have faced similar challenges, making solutions feel more realistic and attainable.
Beyond its functionality, S.T.R.A.W. delivers a powerful call to action: every teen deserves a safe and healthy relationship, and understanding the signs of abuse can save lives. This app doesn’t just educate—it builds confidence and fosters advocacy, encouraging teens to speak up and take control of their well-being. Strong message.
While S.T.R.A.W. is incredibly effective in raising awareness, further enhancements—such as interactive quizzes, anonymous support options, or customizable guidance based on individual needs could expand its impact. Continuing to refine engagement strategies and ensuring content remains relevant and relatable will help maintain the app's effectiveness as a long-term support tool.
Very innovative, compassionate, and well-designed app that puts teens at the center of advocacy and education. The balance of practical resources, emotional encouragement, and interactive elements makes it a standout entry! Its peer-oriented approach strengthens trust, awareness, and empowerment, paving the way for a safer and more informed future for teenagers.
Absolutely fantastic work—this app is making a difference. Keep building, growing, and advocating!
S.T.R.A.W. is a project that I can ABSOLUTELY see being made in the future - Teen Relationships, more specifically, HEALTHY teen relationships, are such an important topic for young folks to learn about. Far too often we seen youth trying to emulate older, adult relationships they see around them, and having a resource like this to show them healthy habits and valuable life lessons was be SO IMPACTFUL. The UI felt clean, and the UX was well thought-out. I'd love to see what expansions you make in the future - Gamifying the lessons could be a great incentive to get folks on the platform and using it consistently, maybe a rewards system could amp up user interest. Great work!
