What the Judges are Saying
This was a very interesting presentation, reimagining the phone size is a bold and creative direction. I really appreciated how the presentation covered both the design and technical aspects. It was informative and educational, and it was clear that the team had strong technical knowledge. The presentation design and layout were excellent, so great job on that!
The inspiration seemed to come from the iPhone, so I was a bit unclear on why the focus shifted more toward Android. For improvement, it might be worth considering how to design for users who operate in both ecosystems. Also, since Samsung already offers foldable devices that address the challenge of portability, allowing users to fit phones in their pockets, it would be helpful to clarify what makes this concept unique or how it innovates beyond what’s already available.
That said, addressing the growing size of phones is definitely relevant today. I appreciate how the team reflected on what’s been done in the past and explored how those ideas could be reimagined for modern needs.
Overall, this was a great execution and proof of concept. I’m excited to see how the idea develops further.

Reimagining the smartphone with a focus on compactness and portability is an exciting challenge! Exploring the technical feasibility and thinking about the potential design of such a device shows strong initiative.
The team has a clear vision. A great next step could be to explore who else would be really excited about a phone this size. What specific groups of people might find an ultra-compact phone especially useful, and why? Understanding this potential audience could make your idea even more powerful. Also keep in mind that a screen that's 75% smaller than a typical smartphone is a big change! It would be fascinating to hear your ideas on how users would interact with apps and features on this unique display. Thinking through this user experience could uncover some really innovative design solutions.
Your project tackles an interesting design and engineering question. Keep exploring these different aspects, it’s this kind of thinking that can lead to cool new innovations. Well done for taking on this challenge!

You have the potential to make a significant impact in a highly competitive market. Your approach is well thought out and meticulously planned. Taking the next step with a 75% reduction will be a formidable challenge, but I’m eager to see how you navigate it and what the future holds for you.
