About this Project
This project is about weather and helping people. Our app begins like every other weather app, but many of us don't understand what those numbers mean. Our main feature for making this app is so kids, or anyone actually, can use it. It is meant for you to understand the weather and what to wear, based on what you need that day. Just taking a walk? We have that. Going out to a restaurant with friends? Same thing. Or…even a wedding? We also, have that. You can choose what age group you are in, and it will change the clothes that it shows based on your age. As well as the type of clothes, like Formal, Comfort, and Streetwear.

What the Judges are Saying
This project demonstrates attention to user needs: current weather reports that focus on numbers don't help kids know what to wear for different kinds of weather and events! The creators show clothing appropriate for the weather instead, taking into account different contexts and user preferences. Although this is an early design, by deciding to interpret the data to give users the practical info they need, Happy Weather is a really successful execution of this idea!
I love the simplicity and purpose of this app as it addresses a key insight that most people have a hard time choosing what to wear based on the weather report. Sometimes the temperature doesn't correlate to how warm or cool it feels outside and it would be easier to have a selection of clothing options that make sense. I also think having hourly updates or push notifications would be very useful as the weather can often change dramatically throughout the day. I really like the idea of having different clothing options based on user style preferences, and I think you could extend that concept to suggestions for other clothing/accessories to include as the weather shifts over the course of a day.
To strengthen the effectiveness of this app, you could add an in-app survey to collect data on what users actually wore, how accurate the clothing suggestions were, and if they would change anything in their wardrobe for the day. I'm really excited about this app and I think I would use it often. Great work!
