About this Project
Fire Guard informs people of the possible dangers of forest fires before there is too much destruction. It has maps, up to date news, and community posts for people who live hear affected areas. Users can also donate to help plan trees to keep the planet healthy.

What the Judges are Saying
As someone who has experienced forest fires firsthand, I think this app could be very helpful. I like the community pages and the mapping feature. In disasters like forest fires, getting safety information out to people can save lives!
My one suggestion would be to focus the maps page more on forest firest near your current location and to add information about air quality hazards and potential resources. I think those two other maps could be more useful than a map of trees and the ozone map.
Great work overall!

I love the concept; the safety messages were great and the idea of donating to rebuild the forest is an awesome and ingenious idea too.
I really love the heart behind this idea—thinking about how to get critical information to people in crisis is both compassionate and important. You’ve identified a real need, and your approach could genuinely help communities when access to accurate, timely information is limited.
A few things to consider as you take this further: What makes your solution different from what's already available through government resources? That clarity will help your idea stand out and ensure it adds real value.
Also, since you're collecting and sharing sensitive information, it's important to think about oversight. If your platform becomes popular (which I hope it does!), you'll want safeguards in place to prevent misinformation—especially when lives could be on the line.
To make your concept even stronger, you might consider incorporating real-time fire risk zones. Highlighting especially dry areas could help people take preventative action, and real-time alerts could keep them safer during emergencies.
And on the donation side, you might look into partnering with local organizations to help distribute supplies. Programs like Moms Helping Moms are great examples of how grassroots efforts can have a big impact.
You're off to a strong start—keep going! This kind of thinking is exactly what the world needs more of.
