What the Judges are Saying
You did a great job identifying the emotional barrier that people feel like they alone can't make a difference in climate change and designing a solution to bring them together. I especially appreciated that you took time to interview other students to uncover this issue. That kind of research makes your solution more grounded and meaningful.
Your app’s focus on building community and encouraging connection is a thoughtful response to that insight. It’s clear you were designing not just for function, but for how people feel.

This is a really strong app concept! You've identified a key challenge: the feeling that individual efforts don't make a difference. Your app's approach, by bringing people together in a community, offers a compelling solution to show how many small actions can indeed create a big impact.
Your presentation was excellent, clearly illustrating your design process from user interviews all the way through to mock-ups. You've shown a deep understanding of the problem and a thorough vision for a solution, with all the core functionality for engagement. It's great that you've also considered potential risks like misinformation and the complexity of climate science in the next steps.
I would genuinely love to use this app! This is an excellent foundation to build upon. Looking ahead, you could explore adding personalization, like content tailored to a user's local area or specific interests, and closing the feedback loop on impact - let them know their petition was successful!

Congratulations on a well-thought-out project. Your project creates a platform that allows people who care about the climate and want to do something about it to come together to collaborate and amplify their voices. By using an app as the platform with which to connect interested people, you provide easy access for everyone since most people (at least in developed countries, and many in developing countries) have smartphones and carry the devices with them all the time.
You followed a good design thinking approach to understanding the issue of climate change and how to make an impact on the issue by interviewing people for their insights. Your choice of platform (mobile app) and the features you designed also demonstrate a good understanding of the problem and potential solutions. I also like your app design. The user interface is simple and uncluttered and has a familiar feel to it. That would help with user adoption. Well done!
