About this Project:
1 in 4 U.S Children are raised by a single parent
The challenge that our app faces is that kids to teens not knowing basic skill such as cooking and self defense.
The way that we discover this problem is by noticing that some friend and pre teens don't know basic skills like cooking and repairing certain Skills.
We interviewed some 6th grader, we asked them question like if they know how to cook, tie their shoes, sewing and more most them don’t know how to do these basic skills
Our project is a basic skill learning app.
It will help and teach you how to do basic skills.
So how our app Addresses the issue of students not knowing basic Skills is by giving Instruction on how to learn basic skills.
So the first idea that me and my partner thought , basically some sort of a search engine that shows you the skill you want to work on.
Most of the tools we used came from figma but there are some other apps we used. such as the Icons8, we got our info on our situation from Unicef.
So how our project of our app would work is by first showing a home screen that shows, most popular skill, recent skills and a search bar you can use.
In conclusion the app is a learning app that helps students in middle schoolers and high schoolers learn basic skills to help them now and in the future.

Feedback from the Judges:
As someone raised by a single parent, I really appreciate the problem that you are trying to solve and think that you can make an incredible impact!
I like that you identified a problem, conducted research, and built a scalable solution. This is a great framework for any project you'll do in the future.
The name is great, but the slides really play into the Fairy Godparent theme. Consider if that might be a better name for the app (like Fairy, or wand, or Bibbity) that ties that theme into the user experience from the beginning.
Getting to the next level
- continue to add skills, maybe kids can sort by age range so kids can find appropriate skills
- can kids ask questions to professionals on the app if they need more instructions?
- it looks like youre adding video tutorials for different skills, could users maybe upload videos showing they finished a new task? what other ways could users otherwise show more engagment?
- Similarly, badges/points for learning new skills to gamify the in-app experience can help boost engagement/return users
Amazing work!! Wow! Keep it up :)

This is a really nicely crafted app! I like the design, especially the colors, and how it is consistent across each view to give a cohesive user experience. I also appreciate that you included your full design process from sketches to the final mockups. Would you be creating video content specifically for this app, or curating available videos already on platforms like YouTube? You could even have users generate their own content for different skills. This project is awesome, great job!

I really like how you found a huge problem, and solve that problem. I also love the name.

I love that this app could connect children to others who would celebrate their life skill achievement in a safe setting!
