About this Project:

The challenge that our project addresses is having an easier way to get accurate time of where the bus/train goes so you can always be on time for any occasion. It also helps with accurate ways to travel to your destination and where the most traffic on each route may be, sharing new routes to try for easier travel.

How we came up with PTI We saw that on the mta app you would get notifications that sometimes did not relate to your route. With all of those notifications it could get annoying to see all of the notifications popping up on your phone.

How our project works is to provide oppositional choses to pick which train/ bus you would want to get notifications. Our app also helps with other things, such as PTI searching for better routes as you travel. But what if you don't take public transportation often or not at all? This app is also useful for that too. There is a specific section for if you take the car or ride a bike. That section works similar to if you were taking public transportation. PTI also finds the best route while you're traveling, so you can reach your destination as fast as possible.

Good job! I'm curious to know how this is set apart from the MTA app and/or other navigation apps such as Google Maps?

The problem you are addressing and solving was really well solved here! Awesome work with the storytelling aspect of the presentation and I enjoyed the research you conducted during the project for more pain points faced by those taking public transit.

Making it easier for people to use public transit could have a profound effect on the community. For those who already take public transit, it could help them save time and make their rides safer. But a lot of people in NYC avoid public transit because it can be very confusing when you aren't already familiar with the route. So, if you can make it easier to use for those folks, maybe you could cut down on the use of cars, which would reduce congestion and pollution.

It's great that you collected feedback from prospective users. It looks like you got some feedback about safety concerns and rude passengers. I wonder what features you could add to the app to address those. Maybe a panic button that would notify the bus or train driver and would allow the police to meet it at the next stop and find you?

Someone pointed out that the MTA app ought to provide better feedback about train and bus times. Just complaining to them about that may not get it done. But, building a competitor app with better features is one way to motivate the owners of "official" apps to step up their game, which would make things better for everyone. Or, maybe they'll hire you to improve their app.... :-)

I like your app idea of having better tracking of the"MTA"system, but I wonder how fast you would be able to get the information of where the trains are, because if you get this of the MTA app what would be the point.
