Pollution Seeker

About this Project:

Our App gives information to people who want to help the environment, but don’t really know how.

We worked together to brainstorm issues and chose one that was important to us. Then we interviewed people to get their opinions on plastic pollution and how we could make an App to address the issue. We found out that people wanted to help the cause, but were confused on where to start.

Based on the information we gathered, we created an App where users can track their plastic waste and compare it to their friends. The App has a map showing areas of high pollution where users can go to help. There is a competition page with eco-friendly rewards for users and their friends who compete against each other to help reduce plastic waste and be the most environmentally sustainable.

Feedback from the Judges:

👏 Senior Analyst, Supply Chain at Dell — Emoti-Con Judge
I was really inspired by your ability to take real, prevelant issues being faces all over the world and craft a solution. If implemented, your app would do a great job at minimizing risk, which is something we must do a lot of working in supply chain. Mitigation and prevention is often half the battle. Great work team!

👏 Critical Response Team at Kyndryl — Emoti-Con Judge
It's fascinating how the team addressed a real-world issue we encountered by implementing a solution. The number of people susceptible to poor air quality will only grow over time. The presentation shows all of the research and hard work the team put in. Kudos excellent job.

👏 Education Evangelist at Adobe — Emoti-Con Judge
I appreciate that the design process was included in your presentation. This can do a lot of good for the communities affected by the poor air quality. A lot of hard work and research went into this and it shows. The simplicity of the display would make this easy to understand and use.
