About this Project:
Our project confronts the critical issue of safety, specifically aimed at preventing human trafficking. This global problem affects women, children, the elderly, and other vulnerable groups. To combat this, we have developed a safety app that provides users with powerful tools to protect themselves and stay informed about their surroundings.
We initiated our design process by deeply studying what human trafficking entails and the safety challenges it poses. Our team brainstormed solutions that could offer real-time protection and information to users. This led to the development of an app that not only tracks the user’s location but also integrates several safety features. We focused on creating a simple yet effective user interface that could be used under stressful situations without difficulty. Throughout the development process, we continually refined our app’s features based on feedback and technical feasibility. Our app operates by allowing users to share their real-time location with the app’s monitoring system. It features multiple safety options:
Emergency Communication: Users can instantly call or text a pre-designated emergency contact or an agent from our support team.
Crime Awareness: The app provides information about recent crimes reported in the user's vicinity, helping them avoid potentially dangerous areas. These functions are designed to give users a sense of security and actionable options during emergencies.

Feedback from the Judges:
Great job, team! I love your thought process in finding a simple, effective solution for a threat that too many people unfortunately face. It was a strategic decision to keep the interface simple - this will remove user roadblocks when requesting help. My only recommendation is additional content (more slides, video, etc.) to demonstrate how the app/call would work. Keep up the great work!
I love how simple the interface is to find everything. I also love how there's a chat feature with an agent when you feel unsafe. I also love how you add a video recording button with the emergency call. Although that's not something currently available on emergency calls, that's something that could be very helpful.
Overall this is such a great idea, would love to see a slideshow explanation to show how you are different from existing apps besides how simple your interface is.
