About this Project:

Our project will allow students to know the different opportunities they have after high school besides colleges. The project will work by allowing the user to input different interests they have and what theyโ€™re goals are. Then the app will give the user different opportunities for after high school. In terms of our design process, we wanted it to be more accessible for different users and how it can appeal to different users.

I think this app will be really helpful to high school students as they try to figure out what they want to do after graduating. The team did a really great job in their design process including creating personas that helped map out the process. And I really appreciate the research that was done and that they tested out competing products that offer some parts of what this app is trying to address. And I really appreciated seeing a slide on how the team addressed accessibility in the app - this is an area that is really important to me in my own work. We need to be able to provide equal access to everyone and should be thoughtful in our design process to do that. I agree that the areas outlined for the future will all be great additions to the app. The skills used for developing this project - research, analyzing the competition, clear layouts and design and addressing accessibility - are all great skills that will help you build a successful career.

Great idea and something I wish I had when I was at high school. The research that went into the project is very good (building user profiles, identifying the mechanics (filling out surveys and pointing to modules) of the app) and they have a clear process for walking the user through from start to finish.

Great project - this is so needed and I love how y'all considered diverse user sets. Itโ€™s obvious how much thought went into all of this and how well you considered your users.

Next Step did a really nice job in explaining their problem of high schoolers needing more guidance on the different opportunities that there is after high school through their personas and mockups. The mockups itself were visually pleasing to look at and had important elements such as allowing users to answer questions in order to find a path that best suits them. I found it really thoughtful that there is a Spanish version of the app for those that speak Spanish as their first language. However, I feel that the so much mockups should have been on one slide because it creates too much information on one slide.

Team Quartet greatly showed their creativity through their graphics. Everything was clearly stated and explained in the slides. You guys actively considered the issues of your user as well as the audience. The guidance to college is a highly important thing for all over the world and I love that you guys were able to implement such issue in your app, however I feel like your app was just based on New York City Students, while this is something that happens world wide.

I love this ! it could help me in my junior year if this app comes out
Tahirah ๐Ÿ‘ a High School Student
Your team made your slides look really good and presented your social issue very clearly. I think your statistics helped better understand what your goal for the app was, and what you intended to do with it going forward.

an idea of improving the school system into the next step is interesting and the the algorithm they picked and that in the future they want this to be integrate with the DOE

This team's presantation was really good. The topic you guys choose was good becasue it is a imporatnat topic to many high schools seniors and you guys did a really good job presanting your work. The mock and a nd the slides where also very good.
Ameera K. ๐Ÿ‘ a High School Student
I like how you provided ways for the user to help identify themselves for the future, such as how they can find their major and if they want to go to college.
Saiyara ๐Ÿ‘ a High School Student from New York
You guys did really good on your details and the research is really good too as well as the personas to make your point proven. I think next time just show more creativity on your slides , maybe make it look more educational.
Antonella ๐Ÿ‘ a High School Student
You did very well with engaging the audience and implementing evaluation when comparing yourself to the other educational apps. You did really good and the translation is very helpful coming from someone who speaks both languages. Your mockup was neat and the color selection was thoughtful! When preparing for college, I'd definitely use this app.

The presentation you guys demonstrated was beautiful. Not only did you implement practicality, via presentational ability, but also the way you differentiated yourselves, from Wizi. By abilities, I mean the way you bounce off of each other during your presentation, and such a phenomenal way to decompose your abstract project.
Saiyara ๐Ÿ‘ a High School Student from NY
I think you guys did really well on the algorithmic part of the project especially when you started showing the graphs and calculations to prove the fact that your app is good and better than other apps.
๐Ÿ‘ a High School Student
You guys did a great job in using your own personal experience to make an app that would help solve the problem of college stress. Overall, I really liked the presentation and the accessibility aspects are very smart!
S.G ๐Ÿ‘ a High School Student
I think the presentation was very well organized and was very well made!
Grace ๐Ÿ‘ a High School Student
I really like the color synergy in you project. There are many components to the app and they all work together very well.
P ๐Ÿ‘ a High School Student
The format of this project is very organize. This is really creative, I like how you include picture and introduce yourselves
Amisha ๐Ÿ‘ a High School Student
The creators of Next Step did a great job at creating awareness through their app of providing high school students with more educational opportunities. This social issue is relatable to many peers viewing this presentation. As well as, this team was impressive at showcasing their creativity in the accessibility features slide and including detailed mockup screens in both English and translated into Spanish to showcase the bilingual feature of their app. Next time, this team should space out their mockups slide into multiple slides so that it is easier to read each screen more clearly.
๐Ÿ‘ a Teacher and/or Educator
As an educator this project is well thought-out. I truly enjoyed how the designers are thinking about the different career pathways students can explore besides college. Great job!
