About this Project:
Our project is centered around the environment and pollution. Specifically targeting littering, our project tries to combat litter pollution worldwide. By targeting individual communities; combined together will in return make an impact on our world.
We started our design process first by creating physical wireframes and mockups. Continuing to advance, we then persevered and created mockups on figma, while also trying to capture our project's theme of making an impact on litter.
Finally we finished.
Our application combats litter pollution via clean-up events and motivation factors that prompts the user to take pictures and/or videos of throwing out trash or garbage. Here our users will be rewarded with points and the amount of trash will be logged. This appโs goal is to help create a cleaner and greener world, and it does just that.

Feedback from the Judges:
Great concept; you are on the verge of something good!
Wow! This was a really impressive and well executed project. I really enjoyed the idea and found it is a very creative approach to dealing with litter and you guys also explained the bigger impact it'll have on the community and environment!
Your group came up with such a relevant and helpful app to support our environment in a positive way. The โLitter Lidโ will put a lid on litter, what a great concept which is environmentally friendly and will help make local communities a better place to live. You all provided a clear goal and solutions on how pollution will be decreased in many neighborhoods. Also, you provided very compelling data to back up your presentation โ (51,000,000,000 pieces of litter are released on American roadways each year, 21.9% of paper is littered away and 1,000,000 is the estimate of animals that die each year from littering). I applaud your efforts to make our world a better place.
Congratulations on fantastic work! The key to building any great solution is to first understand the problem, and this group went above and beyond with their research. After underscoring the problem with data, you carefully identified a target audience and diligently crafted the user personas. From there you conceptualized the user journey and translated that effectively into impactful designs. This is the work of future product design superstars!

Team LitterLid innovation was exceptional. The way you guys were able to implement a New York City issue as well as a World Wide issue together and be able to decompose in more different and digestible parts is amazing. You guys obviously focused on the cleaning up the city or the world but you were able to grab smaller issues and also incorporate them into your app like for example, being able to build a community with those whom also want to help the littering problems.

Team LitterLid did a good job in incorporating problem solving in their content as they explained that many people take part in littering which affects the environment negatively. They introduced their solution with their app LitterLid, which encourages users to pick up trash with points and badges. In addition, the content was conveyed in a creative way with the usage of different designs that relates to the theme of littering and the environment. To include, I thought that the font style and size made reading the content easier.

I really liked the topic you guys choose it is serious and important issue around the world. You guys did a great job with visuals such as the mock up and the slides. I also liked that how your app is unique and diffrent from your competors.

The design of your app is easy to access and navigate. it is very realistic and I could see this app become something famous. I liked that you included a user journey map that really gets in-depth with how the user will interact with the work. I agree with the judges in that for the future step you should say that you want to partner with the sanitation department. Overall it was a wonderful app and presentation.

I like the way you encourage users to keep using your app by placing a rewards system.

Team LitterLid did a great job with the "Abstraction and Decomposition" aspect of the project. The reason I say this is because the team was able to simplify and give a good description of the problem they are covering by making bullet points of the effects litter has on our environment.

LitterLid did a fantastic job in addressing littering and the overall effects of it. You used abstraction by making your mockups and slides simple and not too packed. Each slide was needed and provided all the information needed. The map implementation of the app was so smart too! Great job!

This indeed a Innovating project design for app is awesome.

The creators of LitterLid did a phenomenal job at explaining their social issue by targeting littering. This team's work was very creative as this team is creating an app to combat an ongoing environmental issue around the world especially in New York City. This app is engaging the users through the rewards feature of the app. The user journey map is very detailed as the user navigates through the app which is helpful to include.

Great project. I could see this being used with younger students to get them involved in environmental projects that help their local communities.
