Wow, this is really enlightening and feels as though the NYC public school system is failing its students! I really appreciated the research you put into looking into the different requirements between the public and private schools for their curriculums, but I would have found these slides more valuable if they were placed side by side to better highlight the significant differences. I also think while this was really effective at showing the issue, there was no logical solution proposed so filling in that missing piece would have really completed the project for me!
Great work, Ian! The depth of your research is truly impressive. You clearly presented the curriculums in a way that is easy to understand and impactful. But what truly stands out in your zine is your passion for this topic - it's clear that this is an issue you care deeply about, and passion is contagious, so keep that up! I would love to hear your thoughts on potential solutions to bridge the gap.
What a great topic to bring to the forefront for exploration and conversation. This is a very real issue faced by children that has implications on the future of society as a whole. Your research provided great detail and stark comparison of seemingly two-sided educational system. The one thing I would ask you to challenge yourself with in the future would be to try and think beyond the issue and what others have done to date. In this case and example of challenging yourself may be "what would you do if private schools never existed and wasn't available as a template for success?" Critical and design thinking when applied with correctly can bring out our best innovations. Based on what we've seen here, I think we can all expect greatness from you in the future.
