About this Project:
The issue of racial stereotypes has risen to the forefront of social discourse in America. In a report produced by the Pew Research Centre (April 9, 2019) entitled “How Americans see the state of race relations”, about 58% of Americans say race relations are generally bad. Our project aims at promoting diversity and reducing stereotypes through interactive game play.
After selecting our social issue, we interviewed users for feedback through a google survey, then we analyzed their feedback to hone in specific on offering a counter to racial stereotyping. The design process included creating a happy path, conducting a competitive analysis, creating a paper prototype and finally creating a wireframe box and the app design using Figma.
Our project is an online interactive game that has a simple design. The design of our characters and imagery are in a pixelated format. The user will be able to interact with NPC’s and the user will have a storyline to follow and possibly be able to freely build and explore.
