About this Project:

My project addresses the significant challenge of paying college tuition fees by offering innovative solutions for students. The app I developed provides college students with easy access to IN SCHOOL job opportunities while also connecting them with individuals interested in financially assisting middle-class or economically disadvantaged students with their tuition fees.

The design process involved identifying the key pain points that college students face regarding tuition and employment. I aimed to streamline the job search process for students, enabling them to find work relevant to their field of study and close to campus. This approach allows students to apply their academic knowledge practically while earning income.

Additionally, the app includes a network where students can connect with potential benefactors interested in offering financial assistance. This system is designed to facilitate direct and meaningful relationships between students and those willing to support their educational journey.

My personal experience as a student, coupled with feedback from peers and mentors, informed my understanding of the tuition fee challenges students face. This inspired the development of the app as a viable solution to ease financial stress and create opportunities for students.

By providing a streamlined pathway for students to secure employment and connect with benefactors, my app aims to significantly alleviate financial burdens and contribute to a more equitable educational experience for college students.

Excellent example of design thinking! You clearly defined your personas and issues they have. I love that you took a real world challenge and made it engaging and helpful. You might also want to consider crowd sourcing stars/feedback on the recommended jobs and help the app provides just to take this to the next level of engagement.

This demonstrates that are you very passionate about this issue and want to forage the path for others. Your design thinking was very details, excellent job.

MD, your project and presentation showcase your depth of thought and attention to detail. The ideas you share show that you have considered your target audience well and some potential solutions to address their needs. It is an ambitious idea. In fact, it is two ambitious ideas as you detail a job finder and benefactor finder. While these ideas share a common purpose of ways to get money to help pay for college expenses, they seem like they would have very different requirements to make them work well. Something to consider in evolving this project or future app ideas, is that sometimes less is more. Might one of your two ideas be enough to be successful and helpful? In my experience, sometimes it is harder to focus on one great idea and resist the temptation to add lots of other ideas into the mix -- trying to build apps that do many ideas well can be a costly effort and oftentimes can impact quality. Something to think about in your future work. Thank you for sharing this idea and congrats on a very excellent presentation of it.
