Safe Space

About this Project:

My project addresses the issue of homo/transphobia and helps people find spaces to be safe.

My project was originally supposed to be just a chat app but I noticed that that didn’t really help solve my issue so I made finding a safe space the main feature.

My project would’ve worked with google maps and people to read reports and approve or deny places to be safe.

Feedback from the Judges:

👏 Operations Manager at Pockets Change — Emoti-Con Judge
Your presentation clearly reflects your genuine passion and commitment to helping others. The concept of increasing accessibility to safe spaces for the community and those in need resonates deeply with many communities. The chat feature has great potential for fostering a sense of community. I particularly appreciate the inclusion of the "talk to a professional" feature, which can significantly improve access to professional help. I'd love to more exploration on how to prioritize the safety of both parties involved and implement effective matching mechanisms to connect individuals with like-minded individuals.

👏 Senior Product Manager at Range — Emoti-Con Judge
I love the logo and introduction of this app. A big challenge in design is orienting users, and this does it clearly and visually. It would be great to hear more about why you chose these specific solutions for help and what research inspired you to this solution. Overall, I think you did a great job presenting about an important topic!

👏 UX Design Manager at Samsung Electronics — Emoti-Con Judge
Excellent execution for a critical topic! This app is needed in today's society; Harassing people part of the LGBTQIA+ community physically and verbally is a globally poignant issue. It is important that the LGBTQI+ community feels safe and know what to do if they experience discrimination. Your pitch provides important information/actions to people in dangerous situations and you care about their mental health. I appreciate your willingness to serve this community, great work!
