About this Project:

Our project addresses the challenge of people in need not being able to find accurate and reliable information on homeless shelters, food banks, clothing drives and more, by providing people in need reliable information on locating basic necessities.

Our group came up with Elevate after we volunteered at our local soup kitchen. We noticed that the soup kitchen wasn’t open on the weekends and when going on Google, many of the homeless shelter locations were inaccurate. This got us thinking on how we can help people in need, which evolved into us coming up with Elevate.

Our project consists of an app where the user can locate accurate and reliable information on local food shelters, homeless shelters, and free tutoring.

You have put together a wonderfully comprehensive presentation, including visually appealing slides, a thoughtful video about your intentions and desired impact, and a clickable prototype of your app concept. I'm particularly impressed by the thoroughness of your market and user research. Your concept of identifying and coordinating passionate volunteers to help communities in tremendous need is both innovative and timely.

As you further develop your concept, I would recommend delving deeper into your competitive landscape. For instance, organizations like New York Cares, though perhaps without a dedicated app, have similar capabilities. Understanding how you'll position your concept against other volunteer and donation platforms will be crucial for its success.

In the next steps, consider sharing testimonials from users who have greatly benefited from using your app. This will not only provide credibility but also give a better idea of the real-life impact of your concept.

Additionally, I would suggest offering more insights into your backend architecture and how you plan to motivate users to use your app consistently. This could involve creating personas, user journey maps, and structure diagrams.

Keep up the fantastic work; I'm excited to see how your concept evolves!

This idea is amazing and very well thought out! Looking at your slides put a huge smile on my face. This addresses such an important gap in the community and would have a huge impact on the lives it affects. I really hope it gets turned into an app!

I love that y'all thought about the types of resources this would provide as well as how people can volunteer. Great job!
