About this Project:
I came up with the idea when I was on YouTube and watching a video discussing mental illnesses in the U.S. . It made me think about how many people were distressed and hopeless in our environment. When I joined app design, it made me have an idea to make an app to help you and people across the globe who are struggling with their mental illnesses.
It would be on app store. It works like an app on your phone. You can click certain buttons desired to what you are looking for in our Calm it Down app.

Feedback from the Judges:
Great job presenting your app! Calm it Down seems like a great hub for those seeking help and resources for mental health. I would love to see more of what you plan to provide in the app, especially with the little teaser of how much work you all put into wireframing the UI!
Your emphasis on providing resources to low-income people is very admirable! Some of these local resources are hard to find depending on the community you live in. Working to provide specific online help based on the topic for those who might not have something close by, feels like a great balance of options for users of your app. Very sweet of your team, nice job!

I think your app has a great design and potential! It is really helpful that it suggests nearby therapists based on your location and uses common sign in options like Google or Facebook instead of having to create an account entirely from scratch.
However, I wish you mentioned what sets it apart from other mental health apps that exist. There are a few things that maybe your search for a therapist section can include before showing the nearby options, such as inputting the users age and Health Insurance or asking what the user's budget would be for such services. You mentioned the app is for users of a lower income, but showing any therapists in their area does not guarantee they will be able to afford the service.

Nice job! I liked reading the reason behind your app because it showed that you had empathy for those who were going through mental health issues and needed a place to find the help they needed. You added stats and the effect of someone who doesn't have the resources to help them deal. It showed you did research and how much this meant to you. I wish I was able to hear more from your pitch presentation to see how your app stands out from other mental health apps that connect people with therapists and to see your wireframe. From what I saw on the slide deck, your app seems very colorful and engaging for users.
This is a great idea and an idea that shows you are listening to the needs of the community. The pitch video was great but I wish it was longer, so we could have seen more features of the app. The feature that links you to therapists in your location is a great idea. I'd like to know more about what this app can do to help those struggling with mental illness. Your Google slides have great facts about the problem of mental illness today. I would have liked to see the wireframes larger so we could zoom in on your hard work.
It's great that you're addressing serious issues like mental health and suicide prevention through your app. I think you could benefit from sharing success stories or testimonials (even if they are the opinions of your classmates). I'm sure, in the future, you will empower others to embark on their mental health journey with confidence and hope. Keep up the amazing work!
