About this Project:

There are people that like to read there but have a hard time finding books to read because they don’t know where and how to pick a book they’ll actually like when there’s thousands of different books. However, there are people that think they don’t like to read because they simply haven't found the right book that matches their interest. "BookLook" is an app to help people have an easier time finding books that fit their interest by Genre and NYC best sellers. Right now this app is a part of what I want it to actually become, right now it’s biased since it only has NYC best sellers, however eventually it will have all books no matter the country. This app will help you realize that it's not that you don't like to read but instead that you haven't found the right books for you to read. The app works by having a quiz for your personal interests that will then give you a genre and book length that fits you the most from your responses, and from the genre and book length given there will be best sellers book to choose from. For the people that don’t need the quiz, the book gives you a randomized choice of books for you to choose from or an organized list of books ranging by genre, book length, and if best sellers or not. There will also be a notebook place to add all books read by genre and the book length.

More About this Project

In the photos above you can see the starting page which has 2 drop downs of two different choices for each to either pick the notebook or start picking a book to read by random or organized sections. The notebook which you can go to by the genre you pick before hand which is also shown in the video. There's is still more to add like the quiz AI which will help people have a genre that best match their interests and personality.

Innovative thinking on how to encourage people to read more and why it is valuable for society.
Application is simple with clear functions and intuitive.

The premise that people may not read because they simply haven't found a genre they enjoy is insightful.

I love reading and the concept of this app! Your pitch was easy to read in Canva. It would have been interesting to see quotes from classmates on why they don't read as a personal statement. Overall, I hope this app keeps the library busy checking out new books!

Yes! This brings me back to my Bookseller days when I worked for Barnes & Noble. So many people get very overwhelmed and don't even know where to start when it comes to finding and reading a great book. There were so many times I wish could give them a quiz to know what they would enjoy so, I love this idea! You did a great job presenting this idea and balancing the focus on new readers and passionate readers alike.

I can see how fun it could be if users could share all their notes, quiz results or favorite books with groups of others who have similar taste! Along with inspiring readers, this could also inspire many authors! Perhaps author profiles would be fun and could get others excited to see what their favorite authors are reading as well!

This project turns out to be educational and to give extra hope to those who don't like to read or who feel that reading is a waste of time. This hope will certainly help to improve Humanity's culture and wisdom :) In terms of the pitch, I found it clearly good and quite effective in transmitting the message. It has interesting features, without neglecting those that are simple and more or less obvious for the type of app presented. The code created reaches a higher level of complexity, without ceasing to be organized. It uses a lot of functions and this is clearly a good practice to keep. In terms of social impact, it is clear to me that it brings a cultural value that contributes to improving human sensitivity. This is a perspective that, these days, is starting to gain prominence, although it has not yet taken on a more operational aspect. This project, however, tries to be operational and, in my opinion, it succeeds in this very well. I would just consider another color combination in the app. Moreover, the presentation, the speech, the functionality of the app, the developed prototype, all this goes together very well. Good job.
