About this Project:
During a previous event held at our school, we were assigned to analyze our local community board. My group and I identified a problem that was really impacting New York. This problem led us to creating a survey to further examine our community in Queens and eventually create an app.
With our app, TogetherNOW, New York residents (Primarily in Queens) who are in financial struggle during the time of Unemployment are able to now find communities in Queens who are able to provide them with the following: Food, Clothes, and Shelter. There's more depending on what that community has to offer. This offers an easy route to find exactly what the individual needs to help them with their current situation and eventually be stable enough to get a job again. Our app also assists in finding financial aid for working college students too.

Great job with your idea – and all the data & process behind getting there. I was super impressed by the incorporation of accurate, recent graphs showcasing unemployment rates as well as your team’s analysis of how they relate to your project. Your team also utilizing a ‘survey’ was a great way to incorporate ‘user testing’; in my professional work as a designer, I can attest that testing with your audience is very important before you even start creating ideas. It looks like that’s exactly what your team did, so kudos to following an industry-standard practice in design!
