About this Project:

The app Report was created to assist in eliminating any unlawful/criminal activities we may see in our neighborhood or in the society to help create a safer environment for everyone. The idea came from interviewing neighbors, family members, friends and classmates from different neighborhoods to see what could be improve about their neighborhoods.

In the menu section of the app there are different categories each labelled with different crimes. We tried to incorporate all the crimes we knew into the app to make it easier for users to use and understand. Users will choose the category of the crime they want to report by uploading a photo or video to show evidence.

Users can leave a comment, and immediately call the police by using the call button while on the app if they are in danger; talk to people from different neighborhoods including their own and research the legal actions that can be taken if they witness or are a victim to a crime. In the google slides we did place the visual look of our app, but if we could build it our graphics would be more center and phone size friendly. Also if we had the resources we would hire lawyers to help us write the Law Sections or the app.

This is a great idea for a project and addresses a concern about crime in neighborhoods. I like that the app allows people to call the police without leaving the app. Have you thought about other responses you'd like users to take after seeing a crime taking place? For example maybe the app can provide suggestions on how to respond when you see abuse taking place, if the abuser has left perhaps the app could tell the observer how to interact with the person who was abused so that they can get help. I like that you'd have lawyers help you write the parts that involve a legal intervention.

You've done a great job creating an app for a difficult topic. I appreciate the feature of uploading a photo or video – as we continue to learn, without visual evidence of certain crimes, individuals are far too often not believed. Building on this, it would be interesting to learn what details are needed to apprehend someone who has committed a crime and include fields in the app for users to fill out (things like height, hair color, noticeable markings, etc). Bravo!

This is a very well planned and important project! Giving users the access they need to understand the laws and help keep their local area safe is a great idea. We see a boom of people using apps like 'Nextdoor' to communicate with their neighbors about criminal activity, but an app focusing on learning what to do and giving you the resources to call would appeal to many! Great job with your design layout, it might be nice to incorporate a map of hotspots or easy exits for other incidents to keep the user safe if they are using the app to report something!
