About this Project:

The purpose of this project was to simply experiment with AI development and Machine learning using the popular communication platform known as Discord.
This is simply a preliminary stage as to what we plan for the bot to do. So far it is able to respond to simple commands and certain words, but we wish to take the process father.
We decided on our project idea based on the growing influence of machine learning in our everyday lives. Every day, there is some Artificial Intelligence that takes data from users and sorts it through, seeking only the best results. Similarly, we wish to understand the process of machine learning and want to contribute to the practice and study in our own way.
The challenges we experienced with this were organizing the data being used as well as the responses. We did not expect the process to be so challenging and difficult. When operational this bot will act as a companion on the app known as Discord. We plan on letting it also give users accurate information based on their requests. Unfortunately, we do not have enough time to implement that, but we have the foundation necessary to begin and finish the task.
Specifically, this program works as such:
It replicates a famous or well-known character, and uses data from various transcripts, conversations, etc, to produce responses. Additionally, this program will respond to users based on what they say, and also will undergo processes to test its own knowledge, vocabulary, and conversational skills. It will analyze user input and cross-check it with its own data, and then produce an appropriate result.

More About this Project

This contains code, and a website to a development page, where we will plan on posting updates in the future. We wish to take this project a lot father, and we are fully aware that we have only scratched the surface of the iceberg. Imagine companies like Google, Apple, Amazon, and more who have gone further into machine learning and AI development. We can't expect to reach their level, but we consider them a standard we should strive to achieve.

This is a really cool idea and I love how ambitious it is! You've identified a really interesting problem: How do collect and organize the data that your bot uses?

Utilizing AI and Machine Learning to solve this problem could have implications and applications beyond your own app. I'm really excited to see how far you take this and the solutions that you will find in the future!

What an interesting project! There are so many bots and integrations in apps and software now, but they primarily rely on text input. I like that you're pushing yourselves to create something and organize data around something that involves voice commands. Great work!

What a great idea! I can see this being useful if maybe someone does not have a lot of friends on Discord or maybe all their friends are offline. I saw you hardcoded a lot of the bots responses to the user. It may (or may not be) easier to generate them from a csv file of possible responses, which I'm sure you can find a general one somewhere online that might commonly be used. You could always add your personalized responses to this csv file as well, since I doubt they would include that wonderful Naruto poem. I do wish you included a video showing the bot companion having a conversation with the user; I am curious what a robotic cat might sound like specifically the sound "*Gorogorogorogoro*". Overall, I think you did an incredible job and it is clear the amount of hard work and dedication you put in to make Discord even more fun. I agree, you have only scratched the surface of the iceberg and I am curious the direction this idea will head next.
