About this Project:
Our App from class 602 is called APP FOR FUTURE EQUALITY (AFFE) Our app helps all different types people, but our primary focus is to find jobs for people with disabilities and impairments. We place them in a job of their interest based on their interest and ability survey.
There are also translation services as well. We thought about this app due to the different population of students and parents in our school. We have ENL classes and students with disabilities who come from different backgrounds. These students will one day be adults who will need to same equitable access to jobs just like everyone else. This connects to our neighborhood in Brooklyn, where there is a diversity of cultures and needs.

I'm a designer and storyteller curious about data ethics, media and information sharing, and equity-centered design practices. My design process comes from a curiosity in how people interact with the systems and processes around them and a desire to see things change for the better. I believe great design simply empowers those it affects and use design as a tool to share my power. I'm currently a designer on IBM's Client Engineering team and helping shape the Design for America alumni network.

Your team chose such an important topic; equity in employment could improve everyone's lives. And it's clear that you put thought not just into the problem but the day to day experience of people of all abilities searching for employment. The small touches like considering language services, providing Google links to make learning about an employer even easier, and checking in with how people are feeling show so much empathy, great job!
For future improvements, I wonder how you might be able to even further personalize the recommendations. You could connect users with job training programs? Or possibly have people search by their skills or interests?

This app is great and touches upon an often overlooked group in the community, the disabled community. I really appreciated the app's ability to check in and ask users how they were feeling, as well as providing research for users to learn more about what jobs could be a good fit for them.
One bit of feedback of what could be cool to add. It would interesting if you had a quiz or survey that users could fill out that could then give them a list of 3-5 jobs they may be interested in. Great job!
