About this Project:
PlantMania is an app about how to grow plants and flowers, and how individuals and communities growing plants and flowers can help the environment. The reason we picked this topic is because we were studying air pollution and the effects of air pollution in Science class. We wanted to be able to help in a realistic way. We saw connections between plants, animals and the world we live in. Plants and flowers will help the environment, the local communities we live in and our future world.

Feedback from the Judges:
As an enthusiastic plant mom myself, this app is a very cool idea. In our current world, thinking about the environment and building apps to improve people's understanding of the environment is so important.
One of my recommendations to take this app and presentation to the next level would be to think about a unique way to tie plant care with environmental impact. For instance, could there be a page within the app dedicated to how different plants reduce carbon emissions in the air?
All in all, this is a great idea!

I love the idea! It's a great way for people to not only feel like they can contribute to the environment but also learn more about nature and how it affects their own environment. You should also consider add in more information about the user's own environment such as facts, native plants and flowers, and what people around them are growing. This would enhance their own connection to the nature of their local home.
I think this app is really cool! I especially like the pH level feature — that’s not something I’ve considered much or seen before in other apps. I also like how your presentation explains that you sought out and incorporated user and expert feedback; it’s smart to think about your product through multiple perspectives. To extend this and increase engagement, maybe you could incorporate texting by sending the Fun Facts to a person via text to get them to come back to the app. This is a great project, nicely done!
